As I look around, I see people everywhere trying to find true happiness and fulfillment in temporal things and even in relationships.  Yes, there are lots of beautiful pearls in this sea of life—but we must be careful not to settle for less than the best God has for us.  Matthew 6:25-34 tells us not to worry about our lives and material things because our heavenly Father knows our needs and will meet every one of them.  For this to happen, verse 33 instructs us to “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you” (NKJV).  He loves to bless us. As we seek His kingdom—Jehovah Jireh—the Lord will provide. Not only will He provide, but in His word we are told, “my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV). Therefore—instead of selling ourselves short—let us seek first and find the “one pearl of great price”—the Kingdom of Heaven.

Sea of Pearls

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it.”  (Matthew 13:45-46 NKJV)
