"A Portal Prototype of Heaven on Earth"

The Spirit of the Lord is upon us as dramatically portrayed by the cloud-like dove descending over this painted portal and “Kingdom Rising” prophecy. To fulfill our divine destinies; to bridge the gap between heaven and earth; to empower God’s earthly vessels to establish His plans and purposes on earth as they are in heaven—Holy Spirit is moving upon us. Appointed and anointed by the Spirit of the Lord, “Our song breaks open the ground, Our dance releases freedom and power” because “We are carriers of the ancient sound” and worshipping warriors advancing the Kingdom of God.[1]

Aligned and united with His divine purposes,
we create portals for Heaven to manifest on earth, and this was my commission—to paint “a kingdom portal prototype” at the Pray Georgia “Repair, Rebuild, and Reinforce Assembly in Cartersville, Georgia. Simultaneously, I understood that—as we assembled as one in kingdom intercession—a corporate portal prototype would be established.

To guide me in this commissioned endeavor, the Lord gave me a vision of
two stone walls rising through the clouds, forming the corner of an emerging building. A week later, the vision reappeared with two towers. Through the building’s progression, I sensed God’s invitation to create with Him on earth according to His building plans in heaven.

But first, I heard the Spirit of the Lord say,
"It is time to rumble the stones." That which is unholy, not of Him, must be shaken loose. The foundations of our faith, the walls of our beliefs, every stone that forms our lives must be anchored to the Chief Cornerstone, Jesus Christ. Only on the revelation of Christ, our solid rock, will we be able to stand in the “day of the Lord”[2] and do “greater miracles.”[3] For Christ alone is our tested, precious, and sure foundation.[4]

While sketching this painting, I saw the Lord outlining His lips with a permanent marker as if to say, "Mark the words of My mouth. Write them on your heart." Then He firmly said,
"Put My face on the rock—the cornerstone." To convince me, He brought to mind Mount Rushmore with its faces of presidents carved in stone. Immediately, I understood: Jesus’ face—His nature and His character—must be carved into the cornerstone of everything we build and live by.

Scripture declares: "
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain."[5] It is He who joins His living stones to build His holy habitation on earth.[6]

As the walls and towers of the Kingdom portal began breaking through the clouds of my sketch, I sensed the need to create a bridge and pathway as a connection to earth. Later, I discovered this Hebrew year 5786 speaks of
divine connection between heaven and earth. In the painting, the bridge and pathway serve a dual purpose—as a way for the Kingdom of Heaven to come on earth, and as an invitation for those on earth to enter the Kingdom of God.

Once the pathway for the painting was drawn, I found myself, in the spirit, walking with Jesus along that very path and through the open door. Just inside, we were joined by two others as we silently watched
a man named Terry, diligently sweeping the floor in circular motions around himself. Observing this and what followed, I believe the Lord is revealing that it is time to clean, build, and prepare His house on earth for the harvest of souls coming in.  The full-circle, clean-sweep time of divine turnaround is surely now. Therefore,

  • I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.” Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.”[7]

While watching and waiting inside the portal, I was startled by a physical jolt underneath my seat which felt like riding over a bump in the road. Instantly, I found myself back outside on the pathway where I saw a familiar couple, sitting on
a stone bench called HOPE. Leaning forward with steady, confident expectation, they were watching and waiting for the return of their prodigals.  The woman clutched her purse as if it held her most valued treasure—her precious children. The power of the couple’s hope-filled posture and prayers was literally creating a pathway for their loved ones to return.

The jolt I felt was to reveal that
when our prodigals return, their hardships and our sorrows will seem no more than a bump in the road. Imagine the possibility of what seems impossible—our loved ones coming home saved, healed, and delivered drawn by the Spirit of the Lord to be restored to their God-given destinies.

With this confident expectation, let us
raise up the highway of hope for their return. Sweep away every trace of doubt and discouragement. Even now, as this Kingdom portal is seen emerging through the billowing clouds of God’s grace, let us shout “Grace, Grace” to the mountains before them and before us. They shall become plains—"not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”[8]

While developing the composition for “Kingdom Rising,” I listened to
a Spirit-inspired song, sung years earlier, at a “Braveheart” conference in Scotland. Its lyrics so perfectly describe the misty fog rising on the rock banks of the painting that I felt compelled to include them in this story.

  • “There’s a fog that’s rolling in the valley,
  • There’s a mist that’s coming up the hill
  • It’s the breath of God—His glory.
  • And our mouths He is going to fill”[9]

Do not worry about what you will say or do.[10] Be still and know that He is God.[11] Stand on Christ the solid rock, as you stand in awe of God. He is raising dead things to life—restoring our youth and our identity in Christ. May the fear and zeal of the Lord consume us, setting our hearts ablaze to go into all the world and proclaim the good news.

With that in mind, Jesus brought me—once again—into the kingdom portal and led me to the open door of our Father’s office. Looking inside, I saw His traditional wood desk with a green garden chair, like the one on my front porch. Directly behind His desk and chair was
a largemultipaned picture window overlooking our Father’s garden. In architectural terms, the individual panes of a window are called “lights.” Since God is the Father of Lights and Jesus is the Light of the world, we—His sons and daughters—are the many lights that form His picture window, revealing to the world the countless facets of who He is. And through His multi-light people window, He enjoys observing His garden.

Pondering our Father’s garden office, I heard the scripture where Jesus said,
“In my Father’s house are many rooms.”[12] According to the Greek and Latin root of the original text, these “many rooms” are specifically dwellings and places for travelers on assignment. For our personal assurance, Jesus then declares that He going before us to prepare these appointed places where we are traveling on earth to fulfill His purposes.

To confirm this, a speaker for the Rebuild, Repair, and Reinforce Assembly—where I began this painting—appeared in the vision beside us at the Father’s office door. She was there to serve as
our docent, pointing the way to His many wonder-filled rooms. In the center of each uniquely prepared room, stood a different conference speaker. And this vision occurred before the speakers were even announced. Each one of the speakers was waiting eagerly for the opportunity to share the revelations of their rooms with others in the Father’s house.

At the end of the tour, I was shown
a weathered stone wall, which speaks of the enduring living stones who have stood the tests of time and faithfully held their places in the walls of the Father’s house. The Lord Himself is their strength and their sure foundation.

As scripture declares, “
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.[13] After completing the painting, I was shown the names of God engraved on the stones of the tower above Jesus’ face. Just as Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say that I am?”[14] it is essential that we know whom we are trusting and calling upon. His power, His character, and His promises—who He is—are embodied in His names.

  • Simon Peter spoke up and said, “You are the Christ, Son of the living God!” Jesus replied, “You are favored and privileged Simeon, son of Jonah! For you didn’t discover this on your own, but my Father in heaven has supernaturally revealed it to you. I give you the name Peter, a stone. And this rock will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church—my legislative assembly and the power of death will not be able to overpower it!”[15]

With the revelation of Jesus as the foundation, and the knowledge of the strong tower
bearing the names of God, we can call upon Him for every need in every situation. He will reveal who He is!

Painted high atop the two towers,
trumpeting angels are releasing the frequencies of heaven into earth’s atmosphere, calling the redeemed to prayer and the lost to the Lord. The blast of their trumpets is broadcasting the opening of heavenly portals as God’s Kingdom is rising to join with heaven.

Before painting “Kingdom Rising” at the Pray Georgia assembly, I was shown to use thin paint in order to create a thin place. Because the assembly was held in a church building, I understood the Lord’s desire for His ecclesia to
establish thin places where heaven meets earth and earth encounters heaven. Once our mission at the assembly was accomplished, the building process of the painting continued. The finished work of art and intercession took time and effort, as will the repairing, rebuilding, and reinforcing of the church—His legislative assembly. Of utmost importance, is that the work be done solely upon the revelation of Jesus Christ and His divine plans.

Along with the divine connection of blending heaven’s blues with earth’s sepia-browns, the sepia tones also speak of
architectural sepia prints which are used to preserve original building plans while allowing for reproduction and continued development. Since I was told I would be painting a “portal prototype”—I realized this symbolic purpose of using the sepia tones for the structure and the Rock upon which it rests. These tones signify that God’s original fundamental building plans must be preserved, reproduced, and developed here on earth as He has created them in heaven.

Even as His ecclesia—His legislative assembly—convened to repair, rebuild, and reinforce God’s kingdom plans on earth, the Lord has and is creating His sepia prints for the reproduction of His portal prototypes throughout the world. Praise God for His empowering Spirit upon us now—to repair, rebuild, and reinforce “the ruined cities of many generations.”[16] As we remain plumb and steadfast doing His work, the
Kingdom of God on earth is rising above the chaos of this world, and Heaven—even Jehovah Sabaoth, Lord of the angel armies—is coming down to meet us.
