"For God so greatly and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost but have eternal (everlasting) life" (John 3:16).

We read the words—but how can we possibly comprehend them. Before there was anything—God’s love was.  While there is darkness and chaos in our world—God’s love is. Before we arrive—God’s love always will be. The amplified version of the scripture explains,

The plan was in place in the formless inky mass prior to creation and the plan remains unchanged—for Heaven to be on Earth as it is in Heaven. God sent His Son that we might have life and have it abundantly here on Earth! Life full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Life full of hope, liberty, health, and laughter in His presence and His power. On a scale of 1-10, where are we in the abundance of His plan and His provision? Are we enjoying the benefits of an everlasting life on Earth or are we lost and perishing? Do we trust in, cling to and rely on Him for everything—all the time? Just look at what He has done for us. He gave His one and only Son because He loved us so and loves us still!
