“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end…. I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star…. He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I am coming quickly'” (Revelation 22:12-13, 16, 20 NASB).
Thank you Lord for bringing the dawn of every new day!
“The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; you support my lot. The [boundary, NIV] lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed my heritage is beautiful to me. I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; indeed my mind instructs me in the night. I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand. I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will dwell securely. For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; neither will you allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever” (Psalm 16:5-11 NASB).
Today is the dawning of a new day! The bright and morning star is shining and it is Jesus. He comes to usher in each new day. I wake up and say, “Good Morning.” I am looking forward to being with Him. I love to hear His voice and know His heart. Time spent in communion and communication with Him is full of "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, [and] self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23 NASB). Each new day holds priceless promise, treasure and adventure. I do not want to miss it. He is my heart’s desire and I am His.
Dawning of a New Day
I am rejoicing not only in this for today, but also in knowing that this is only a shadow of what we have to look forward to. There is a new Jerusalem and a new day coming on the horizon. Those who wash their robes will be allowed to enter into it. Those within it gates will get to see the face of God and eat from the tree of life. In this city of God there will no longer be any curse, sorrow, sickness or death. "The throne of God and of the Lamb [Jesus]" will be there in our midst. (Revelation 22:3 NASB) “And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:5 NASB). And Jesus, the one whose desire is for us, says,
